We’re Not Married - $12.99 Having supped full of success with the multi-storied O. Henry’s Full House, 20th Century-Fox assembled another all-star “omnibus” film, We’re Not Married. The unifying factor of this enjoyable seriocomedy is provided by justice-of-the-peace Melvin Bush (Victor Moore), who learns to his horror that his license is invalid. Bush and his wife (Jane Darwell) feverishly track down the five couples whom he has married “illegally” to inform them of the fact and invite them to renew their vows. Couple #1 is Fred Allen and Ginger Rogers, a husband-and-wife radio team whose huggy-kissy behavior on the air conceals the fact that they’d dearly love to cut each other’s throats. Couple #2 consists of David Wayne and his contest-happy spouse Marilyn Monroe, who’s just won the “Mrs. Mississippi” pageant. Couple #3, Paul Douglas and Eve Arden, ran out of things to say to each other long ago. Couple #4 is millionaire Louis Calhern and his avaricious young bride Eva Gabor, who intends to jilt the old coot and make off with his millions. And Couple #5 is young GI Eddie Bracken and his pregnant wife Mitzi Gaynor. When Bush delivers the news that these unions aren’t legal in the eyes of the state, the results range from poignant to hilarious: particularly satisfying is Calhern’s puckish revenge on his gold-digging wife. Your Marriage May Benefit from Sleeping in Separate Beds
In most situations, couples will share a marital bed. Only reason to sleep apart is when they're mad at each other. However, it can sometimes be quite helpful for you and your partner to sleep apart. Keep reading to learn a few reasons why.
Snoring at night can be a problem for many spouses. If it's too loud, you may not get enough sleep. You'd be able to get all the sleep you needed if you slept in a separate room away from the loud snoring.
Not everyone operates on the same schedule. You may prefer to sleep during normal hours, while your partner would rather be up during the night. Having your partner up looking at TV can be quite annoying when you're trying to get some sleep.
You two could make the decision to sleep in separate rooms if this becomes a problem. You could get up and read a book or watch TV whenever you wanted to without worrying about causing an issue with your spouse.
Couples can also have a different idea when it comes to keeping the room tidy. If you like things to stay particularly neat, then you won't appreciate your partner messing up the bedroom. Sleeping in two different rooms is an excellent way to avoid this problem.
Everyone needs their own separate space once in a while. If you prefer to be in solitude more frequently, then having your own bedroom will give you somewhere to retreat to whenever you need to be alone.
Having the ability to decorate the room anyway that you want is another reason you may want to consider it. Many couples argue because one doesn't like how a particular room is decorated. If you have a room to yourself, this won't be a problem.
One final problem that couples experience is sharing the same bed. Some people like softer mattresses, while others prefer harder designs. Room temperatures can also be a source of debate for some couples. None of these will be problems if the two of you sleep in separate rooms.
