The Holiday Season's Tree And The Environmental Issue

It has been a long time since the Christmas pine became a broadly celebrated tradition of the holiday season.

To almost everyone , the habit of decorating the Christmas pine is merely a good moment that shall be lived peacefully, far from any non-related problems; to several environmental specialists, notwithstanding, the scenario is entirely different. The question under the discussion is the the next one: in fact, which kind of pine is the better to the environment, the natural or the factory made ones?

Several years ago, there was a consensus: fake pines were interpreted as the best solution. The most used arguments seemed strong, if we well remember. The danger of deforestation entailed by a repetitive activity of chopping down trees was a strong reason to the artifical solution.

But a recent generation os environmentalists started defending new ideas, and today the support of fake pines is not peaceful no longer. Therefore, it'll be significant to understand the foundations of this new account.

- The Dangers of Manufactured Christmas Trees -

Do you know what is PVC? It is a non-renewable plastic, extracted from fossil resources, and artificial pines are principally made of this highly polluting material. Then, everytime we get rid of a manufactured pine, we are contributing to fill even more a garbage dump, where it'll remain for a long time.

There is also a huge concern about the health consequences the factories represent to the near cities. Beyond vinyl, these factories use several risky additives to make the plastic become more pliable; these additives may be the cause of kidney, hepatic and other complications.

- However, Natural Trees Have Drawbacks Too... -

Even though everything we just mentioned puts the manufactured pines' partisans on blast, the use of natural pines also have cons: It isn't only the devastation of our green spaces that's concerning, but also the intense use of dangerous pesticides in the commercial cultivation of Christmas pines.

- To Conclude: Which Solution Is More Eco Friendly? -

Actually, both sides involve prejudicial drawbacks, but if we pay attetion we'll see that natural pines' disadvantages contain a somehow easy solution: everything everyone can do is start following a more ecological farming and alter the way Christmas pines are commercialized.

The suggestion is obvious: don't cut down a pine, purchase it with its roots and make it last in your home for years.

A simple change of mentality will entail the best solution; The solution is in front of us, all we have to do is grab it! You can read more info at prendas de natal, my personal weblog.
