Do Christians Require To Celebrate Christmas
The Bible never commands us to celebrate Xmas or observe any other festival purportedly borrowed from traditional Pagans. Are we able to then, as fans of Jesus Christ luxuriate in an increasingly commercialized and mundane Holiday?It is right that many Pagan Holidays occurred in the month of December. Nearly all the countries surrounding the Mediterranean Sea held festivals celebrating the Winter Solstice. The Winter Solstice according to the Julian calendar was December 25th.
It is indeed fact that by selecting December 25th, the Church selected a date where worship of fake deities was performed. What is frequently misstated or entirely ignored is the Churches intention in selecting this date. The Church by selecting the solstice was able to line up a holiday to rival the Pagan festivals, which has almost completely exterminated the parties to these fake Gods. The bible never immediately states that we are to commemorate the birth of our Lord.

This sort of celebration of Yuletide would be idolatrous. Our party of Yuletide should take on the disposition of the Angels and shepherds. As Christians our celebration must be one of awe, wonder, gratitude and joy. Our party is to be a steady daily celebration of one of the best moments in redeeming history. Till He comes again we should celebrated His first incarnation in a manner suggest by an unknown song writer in round the 11th or 12th century.
