Aid Reduce Holiday Pressure With Humorous Christmas Cards
While most everyone else sends serene, religious or cheerful Christmas cards during the holidays you can make an impact by sending funny Christmas cards instead. You see, many people get stressed out by the holidays due to tight schedules, having to spend extra money on gifts for people they don’t really like, and annoying relatives who come to town, snore on their couch, and eat all of their food.
Unfortunately, you might not be able to change any of that, but you might get some relief by sending them a funny card or one with a Christmas-themed joke in it.
But, be careful. Only by knowing the person the card is being sent to well can your attempt at humor be maintained on a positive note. Be careful the subject that hits your funny bone is not odorous to another.
Based on extensive Internet research, I have uncovered several types of humorous cards. There are a ton of cards with pictures of animals dressed as reindeer. Although animals in a picture might not be smiling, antlers on a hamster can strike your funny bone regardless of your sense of humor.
A second, popular category involving funny cards is that of babies. Babies having far more interest in eating a Christmas present than opening it is a common theme. Christmas cards consistently are funny whether a baby is pictured toppling a Christmas tree, eating branches on the tree, or simply making that sour face at the initial taste of a pine needle.
Many people combine babies with the reindeer theme, photographing an infant trying to ride an animal such as a favorite dog adorned with the antlers of a reindeer.
Other possible Yule-oriented humorous cards might include:
- Inconvenient events for Santa, like the sleigh getting a flat tire or Rudolph not making it to work
- Santa getting put in jail for speeding, being mistaken for a burglar, or making kids cry at the mall
- Santa doing naughty things
From my perspective, the best card of all centers on Santa receiving a note from a young boy named Timmy. After Santa has scarfed down the milk and cookies Timmy left for him, Santa’s face goes from satisfied to terrified as the note reads something like, “Dear Santa, if you leave a brand new bike under the tree I promise to give you the antidote for the poison I put in your milk and cookies. Your loving child, Timmy.
