How To String LED Lights To Decorate Your Holiday Tree
The Yuletide season is the most enjoyable time of year, embellishing my home and the Christmas Tree. So how do you hang LED lights on a Christmas Tree? On we go to the fine art of hanging christmas lights on our Trees.... And yes, it can be regarded as an art. And to quite a few a fine art.
Ensure that before you get underway, to have everything you need nearby . This will eliminate not having a supply that is required while you are the on the ladder. So we will start with the ladder, make sure you have a solid step ladder or small ladder handy . You will need this while you are adorning the upper branches, even with a short tree, being on a ladder makes stringing your LED lights much more convenient .
You will obviously need your lights, an extension cord if the socket is not close by or a step on off/on switch cord, makes lighting your tree hassle-free , as well as some patience.
Would you be surprised to know that it is recommended that you begin hanging your Christmas Tree LED lights at the bottom? We had always begun at the top. Reason being: You can follow the electrical outlet with the string of LED lights and not have too much or too little left over from hanging from the top. Never thought of it that way before. You will also be able to begin with the right male/female connections, ever hang LED lights and end up with two female ends?
When trimming your Christmas Tree, always start with the lights. The lights are the foremost thing that should be hung before garland or baubles . Before you begin, make certain that the lights are functioning properly, nothing worse than putting the lights on the tree and half the strand is not functioning .
As you drape your LED lights use a weaving motion one light beneath a branch and the next light above, beneath and above. Tuck the cord into the branches so the cord is out of sight.
Estimate your space as you drape your lights into the branches, alternate and space your rows so that there are no uncovered spots or clumps of lights together. Be especially careful not to clump the lights together at the topmost part of the tree. The top of the tree should be the showplace for your topper.
If you decide you need additional lights on your Christmas Tree, use additional strands and repeat the method of weaving from the top of the tree to the bottom.
Not sure how many lights you need , a quick rule of thumb is to measure the height of your tree and times by 10. For example , a six-foot tree would need around 60 feet... I know I go way overboard on the number of lights on my tree but just can't help it.
Now that you are done stringing and are satisfied with the lights on your Christmas Tree, it is time to adorn your tree with baubles , garland and whatever pleases your imagination....
