Using LED Christmas lights can brighten up your home and make your Christmas decoration more vibrant which is the true meaning of the season. This holiday season must be a most joyous time to share with your family and friends.

In this time of the year you can find various decorative LED Christmas lights in many home improvement centers. There are icicle lights, the conventional mini lights and mesh style lights that are widely used to wrap around a tree trunk.

You can also find many colors available that will suit your preference from crystal clear white to colored bulbs and those that blink, chase and stay lit. The suitable decoration and style of home is determined by your taste and what image you want. It also will lie upon how much you would like to spend on your LED Christmas lights and other accessories.

It is most convenient to look for light strings having male and female receptacles in each ends. In this manner it is easier to route because you could connect two strings from end to end.

In the case of a tiny light, it is better to choose strings having 50 bulbs than those with 100 to 200 bulbs simply because you can get new ones a string when damaged or not functioning well. No matter what kind of Christmas lights you'll select, remember to go for those that are UL-approved and take extra attention on manufacturer's directions on the package.

Here are some tips on easy methods to hang LED Christmas lights:

1. Find an appropriate electrical receptacle for the lamps and get a heavy duty extension cords that are 120-volt electrical electric outlet and insulated by a ground fault circuit interrupter. Work with a controlled switch outlet with an automatic timer device that turns on at dusk and turns off late night.

2. Use a long measuring tape, measure the length of the place from ground level and its height, or trees and bushes you intend to put your lamps on. Measure the needed length of strings that you must use.

3. Before plugging your LED Christmas lamps, visually observe and inspect them for busted bulbs and inadequate wires. If there are broken bulbs, substitute new ones. I highly recommend you use safety leather gloves and long-nose pliers when pulling out lamp. After substituting the bulbs now you can plug them and try out the string again. If the string didn't operate, check if the fuse had blown.

4. Work with a step ladder if your home's eaves are low or you can also use an extension ladder. Remember to place it steadily on the ground and against the eaves so it can easily be stable and can carry your weight.

5. Hang the lights along the eaves and have plastic clips, these clips clasp gutters and have hook that keeps a light string or a cable.

6. When hanging light strings to a window trim or any other vertical places, remember to use plastic clips that have screws and position them 12 inches apart. You should not use nails and staples since it can harm the wires which might cause electrical hazards.
