Aid Subside In Holiday Stress With Amusing Christmas Cards
While most everyone else sends serene, religious or cheerful Christmas cards during the holidays you can make an impact by sending funny Christmas cards instead. You see, many people get stressed out by the holidays due to tight schedules, having to spend extra money on gifts for people they don’t really like, and annoying relatives who come to town, snore on their couch, and eat all of their food.
Unfortunately, you might not be able to change any of that, but you might get some relief by sending them a funny card or one with a Christmas-themed joke in it.
However, proceed with caution. Understanding the person to whom you are sending the card and their sense of humor is a precursor to a palatable conclusion after the card is sent. Be careful the subject that hits your funny bone is not odorous to another.
Based on extensive Internet research, I have uncovered several types of humorous cards. A popular funny card depicts a wide array of animals dressed like reindeer. Remember, the purpose of your card is to humor another human being, so any lack of joy expressed by the animal wearing antlers on the card can take a back seat to your intent.
A second, popular category involving funny cards is that of babies. Babies having far more interest in eating a Christmas present than opening it is a common theme. Let‘s face it, whether a baby is pictured tumbling a Christmas tree, eating branches off the tree, or grimacing at the taste of a pine needle, the end result is we adults will smile or even laugh aloud.
Many people combine babies with the reindeer theme, photographing an infant trying to ride an animal such as a favorite dog adorned with the antlers of a reindeer.
A few other common categories include:
- Ms. Claus nagging Santa to lose weight or do mundane housework
- Santa doing naughty things
- Santa getting put in jail for speeding, being mistaken for a burglar, or making kids cry at the mall
From my perspective, the best card of all centers on Santa receiving a note from a young boy named Timmy. The card gives the impression Santa has voraciously consumed the milk and cookies left for him by Timmy before exhibiting a look of abject terror while reading Timmy‘s note, which says, “Dear Santa, if you leave a brand new bike under the tree I promise to give you the antidote for the poison I put in your milk and cookies. Until next year, Timmy”.
Truth is, funny Christmas cards can help your loved ones relieve some stress over the holidays. My question to you is if you‘d be willing to share what your favorite funny card is? Let us know in the comments!
