Deals of the Century $21.95 DEALS OF THE CENTURY Throughout history, mergers and acquisitions have been the major game played on Wall Street. These deals have had far-reaching effects, on the worlds of finance and industry – more than most commentators or financiers are publicly willing to admit. Deals of the Century captures this dynamic moment in history by taking an in-depth look at the most notable merger and acquisition deals of the twentieth of Carnegie Steel in 1901 to the creation of the former AOL Time Warner, renowned business historian and bestselling author Charles Geisst traces the deals that have had the most dramatic impact on the worlds of both finance and industry over the past century. Decade by decade, you’ll be introduced to the personalities behind each event, as industries are built, dismantled, and reorganized by “professionals” driven mainly by the profits extracted from the deals themselves. Engaging and informative, Deals of the Century paints an exciting portrait of the incredible M&A journey and illustrates how many of these deals changed the face of business, creating a modern capitalist society that continues to grow. |

Deals on the Green $5.99 No matter how sophisticated the tools become-the e-mails and teleconferencing, the BlackBerries and PowerPoints-golf remains the true communications hub of American business In the history of American business there have been more deals consummated on the golf course than in any boardroom or five-star restaurant. It’s no accident that executives from J. D. Rockefeller to Jack Welch have made time in their busy schedules for eighteen holes. Deals on the Green takes a fresh look at the interesting worlds of golf and business. It’s not a “how to win business” instructional, but it does offer lessons about what is required to succeed in golf and in business-namely friendship, imagination, tenacity, multitasking, guts, passion, and compassion. And it shares great inside stories about the leaders whose devotion to and respect for the game have contributed to their success in business. Financial journalist David Rynecki takes us inside the gates of elite courses such as Augusta National and Pebble Beach to reveal how the wealthy and powerful really behave-or misbehave. He lets us in on the keys to mixing business and pleasure, the best way to swing a nine iron in front of your boss, and even what to do if you happen to slice it. |

Redecorating Holiday Occasions Such As New Year's Eve With Christmas Lighting
December 31 is the day we rejoice over New Year's Eve, but that wasn't always the calendar day it was celebrated in the past years. Some 4000 years ago, the Babylonians rejoiced the beginning of the New Year following the first crescent moon after the first day of Spring in respect of the earth being "reborn" following the winter months. We splurge one day in honor of the New Year, but the Babylonians' celebration lasted for eleven days! Although our special events and parties probably pale in comparison to the Babylonian celebrations, our New Year's Eve party can be sparkling, beautiful, and remarkable when you adorn with LED lights.
Canapes are great for New Year's Eve parties so guests can mingle and speak with everyone present. Use white mini LED light sets or battery controlled light packs along with champagne glasses, black top hats, plenty of curly ribbon in tints of silver and gold, confetti, candles, and glitter on the cocktail snack table for a great show of your finger foods and wine bottles.
Are your guests planning to watch the ball drop on television? Surround your color TV with mini light sets, streamers and curly ribbon after all it will be a center during the ball drop and perhaps for some of the broad casted festivities following the coming of the New Year.
If you have a huge room where you'll be dancing, such as family room, great room, banquet, or reception hall, use numerous light sets on the ceiling. String them from a center in the middle of the room, hanging them with clear wire towards the corners of the room and in between. The ceiling eye catching piece could be sparkling stars, moons, and streamers hanging down at varying distance from the ceiling.
Welcome your guests by using Christmas light stakes to suspend traditional C7 or C9 or LED lights along your driveway and walkway. Your visitors will be in a festive spirit before they strike on your door!
Battery operated lights add zest to any party hat, so think of adding them to your sparkly party hat and make a genuine statement.
Balloons, streamers, and lights are given at a great party, so use them liberally in your passageway, powder rooms, your kitchen, dining area, basement, or any other living space in which your guests will congregate.
A themed New Year's Eve party would be highly valued with your guests. Some preferred themes for this holiday may include a Roaring 20's design, a Black Tie event, a luau, an 80's or 50's concept, or an all American theme. No matter which motif and color scheme you choose, there are a wide variety of colorful mini lights to compliment or conform your New Year's Eve party ornaments.
Is the Christmas tree still standing? Leave the light sets on the tree and switch your Christmas ornaments with New Year's style decorations that either match or compliment your party theme or in a traditional style. Crystal clear mini lights or warm white mini LED lamps are the perfect backdrop for glittering stars, fancy top hats, and bulbs.
New Year's Eve gives us a motivation to celebrate the upcoming year and to enjoy friends and family members at the same time. Our mini lights, battery operated LED light sets, and our crafted lights offer a great variety of decorating ideas when it comes to bringing light, sophistication, or whimsy to your New Year's Eve event.
