How To String LED Lights To Decorate A Holiday Tree
The Christmas season is the best time of year, decorating my home and the Christmas Tree. So how do you hang LED lights on a Christmas Tree? On we go to the fine art of stringing christmas lights on our Trees.... And yes, it can be considered an art. And to some a fine art.
Ensure that before you begin , to have everything you need on hand . This will eliminate not having a supply you require while you are the on the ladder. So we will start with the ladder, make sure you have a secure step ladder or small ladder handy . You will need this while you are draping the upper branches, even with a short tree, being on a ladder makes stringing your LED lights much easier .
You will of course need your lights, an extension cord if the socket is not nearby or a step on off/on switch cord, makes lighting your tree easier , as well as some patience.
Would you be astonished to know that it is more advisable that you begin stringing your Christmas Tree LED lights at the bottom? We had always begun at the top. Why? You can follow the electrical outlet with the string of LED lights and not have too much or too little left behind from stringing from the top. Never looked at it that way before. You will also be able to begin with the right male/female connections, ever hang LED lights and end up with two female ends?
When adorning your Christmas Tree, always lead with the lights. The lights are the primary thing that should be put on before garland or baubles . Before you begin, make certain that the lights are in working order , nothing worse than wrapping the lights on the tree and half the strand is not functioning .
As you drape your LED lights apply a weaving motion one light under a branch and the next light above, under and above. Insert the cord into the branches so the cord is out of sight.
Estimate your space as you weave your lights into the branches, overlap and spread out your rows so that there are no empty spots or clumps of lights together. Be especially careful not to crowd the lights together at the top of the tree. The crown of the tree should be the special place for your topper.
If you decide you need additional lights on your Christmas Tree, use extra strands and repeat the manner of weaving from the top of the tree to the bottom.
Not positive how many lights you need , a quick rule of thumb is to take the height of your tree and times by 10. For instance, a six-foot tree would need approximately 60 feet... I know I go over the top on the amount of lights on my Christmas tree but just can't help it.
Now that you are done stringing and are pleased with the lights on your Christmas Tree, it is time to adorn your tree with baubles , garland and whatever tickles your imagination....
