Christmas Your Way
Anybody can go to the drug shop or department store and purchase ready made ornaments and decorations, but they seem so impersonal and common. Your family has traditions that are unique to your history and inheritance, and your decorations should reflect this. It has never been simpler to achieve this than now!
Making your own ornaments is extremely simple . Head to your local crafts store and purchase some Styrofoam balls 3" in diameter, some sequins, and some pins with superbly colored heads. Place the pin thru the centre of the sequin and then press the pin into the Plastic ball. Repeat all of the way around the ball, totally covering the Plastic, and voila! You've a colourful, glistening decoration bound to catch the light superbly from the Christmas tree. You can make the ball all one solid colour, or add a variety of colors for a bolder look. Place these in a bowl for a table decoration, or add hooks and hang them on the Christmas tree!
Making crafts with your children is generally a joy this time of the year, and they will love making their own Xmas tree shaped decorations. Simply layer two pieces of green construction paper on top of one another and cut out a Yuletide tree shape. You will have two cutouts. Stack the cutouts, then utilize a hole punch to make a hole about each in. around the fringe of the tree. Let your youngster decorate both trees as they wish. Perhaps they will use glitter, perhaps crayon, or perhaps even markers! Once more stack the trees, decoration side out, and start to thread some red yarn thru the holes. When you have virtually reached the end, stuff some cotton balls between the sheets of paper. Finish threading the yarn thru the holes and tie off the yarn at the end. You can hang this on a wall, prop it on a shelf, or add a hook and put it on the Yuletide tree!
Making your own chocolate treats is an alternative way to keep everyone contented this vacation season. Simply purchase some chocolate molds in the shapes of Santa, Xmas trees, reindeer, Yuletide bells, or any other seasonal shape, and your favorite chocolate, preferably fair trade organic chocolate. Melt your dark chocolate in the microwave and then pour it into these molds! Put them on some wax paper on a cookie sheet and freeze them for 30 minutes. And there you go! You have got a fridge full of delectable Yuletide cheer!
This Yuletide, let all of your decorations come from you!

A Sweeter Revenge [A Christmas Belles Regency] $7.5 Winter holidays are an especially festive time in 1813 Regency England. The War of 1812 between Britain and America has all but ended, although another bitter war still rages on the European continent. Nevertheless, England's aristocrats entertain elaborate house parties, hosting new--and old--acquaintances during a frivolous season that is expressed by less formality and more enjoyment. Not hearing from Jordan Brisbane for five years after his abrupt departure for America that left her with a broken heart, Marigold Calloway decides to remain a spinster. Her beauteous twins, Lily and Hyacinth, however, are quite anxious to marry. Unfortunately, it is customary for the oldest girl to marry first. Badgered by her pouting sisters, Marigold devises a planned revenge on Jordan when she learns he will be at her aunt, Henrietta Brisbane's Christmas house party. Now a ship's captain and partner in the Brisbane's shipping firm in America, Jordan accumulated success and wealth after deserting England's shores. Uncertain Belinda is the wife for him, Jordan invites a partner and his daughter with him to Kent. At Henrietta and Walter's mansion, this Regency Romp quickly fills with laughter, amusement, and a bit of mystery, while the odd assortment of party guests meet, mingle, and make merry during Christmas week. |
