Advanced Sony Alpha SLR Digital Camera Models Just Keep Getting Better

When the Sony Alpha range of cameras was first recounted, a lot of photographers were excited by the potential that a consumer electronics mega corp like Sony could deliver to the digital camera market. Up until recently, Sony has spent the majority of it's energy creating entry level Alpha cameras, but that strategy is now beginning to change, and Sony now looks committed to expanding its range of mid range and professional level cameras. The A700 was the 1st step along this trail, but the most recent release of the A500 and A550 go a great distance to underline this dedication to expand the Alpha range.

When Sony released the A700 in Sep 2007, it was clear from the spec sheet this was a camera that they wished to be taken seriously. The A700 has a 12. 4 megapixel sensor and a Tricky metal body to Defend the sensitive electronics on-board4 MP CMOS with a robust metal case to make the camera durable. There are eleven AF points that also include some precision focus sensors that are designed to achieve peak performance in this area. To help in keeping out dust and water, gaskets were added around the buttons, and the camera can use either Sony Memory Stick cards or CF memory cards for storage. The camera comes with a radio control, a high res LCD and Sony Super SteadyShot image stabilization. The DSLR-A700 shoots 5 FPS, but comes without Live View, doesn't have a revolving LCD screen and can't record HD films. An updated Alpha seven hundred series camera should be coming shortly, and it'll surely address these issues. If you're looking out for a shop offering Sony Alpha A700 electronic camera fix you should be capable of finding a reputable repair store with a couple fast Google searches.

With the A500 and A550, Sony has kept up with its convention of releasing 2 versions of what is essentially the same camera. The A500 was released in Oct. '09 and has a 12.3MP CMOS with ISO capacities up to 12,800. The same leaning 2.7 ' LCD screen that is on the three series Alphas, can be found on the A500, as is the twin sensor live view. But enhancements mean it is now capable of shooting up to four frames per second in live view mode, or five frames thru the rangefinder. You also have face detection in the new live view, and the grin shutter feature developed for Cyber-shot cameras. A really fun new capability of the camera is built in HDR ( High Dynamic Range ) functionality that combines three footage of different exposure settings into one image to produce spectacular effects.

The A550 sells for roughly two hundred dollars higher than the similar Sony A500 camera, so why the big price change between the two? Well, the A550 has a far higher resolution CMOS, sloping 3-inch LCD screen. It has also got a bigger 14.2 megapixel sensor. The A550 has greater speed and can let you shoot at up to 7 FPS if you lock the exposure in advance, and this feature alone just might make pro sports photographers think that it is worth the extra two hundred bucks over the A500. If you're looking out for a shop offering Sony Alpha digital camera repair you ought to be capable of finding a reputable repair shop with a couple fast Google searches.

The excellent Sony A500 and Sony A550 are extremely able digital cameras that fit in well with the Sony Alpha range, but the absence of an HD movie mode may make some buyers look towards the mid-range models from Nikon or the near professional level Canon EOS range . If this is not something that is necessary to you, then you can rest assured that these are some of the top electronic cameras in the Sony Alpha digital camera series.

We hope this will help throw some light on the different complicated models of Sony Alpha electronic cameras! And if you ever have the necessity for Sony camera repair tips remember help is merely a quick search away.
