A Couple Of Ideas To Make Sure That Your Kiddie Theme Party Is A Success
A birthday party for kids is a big deal, especially to parents. Parents would want to have their say on anything that goes on during the party. Parents want to share their input during the planning stage, and they want a big role in the execution part. For the sake of the kids and the parents, the party should be a blast.
Theme parties are the hardest to pull off. The theme should be clear to all the guests early on, so that they can start planning for their outfit. If the party is a costume party, some guests who didn’t know they had to wear a costume can be so embarrassed that they leave on the spot. If done properly, planning a birthday party should be easy for most parents. If you’re pitching in and planning a theme birthday party for kids, here are some recommendations.
1. Confer With the Celebrant and the Parents
The theme for the party must resonate with all of the guests. Some kids may not know about an obscure cartoon character from the seventies. Themes are also gender-based so make sure the theme is appropriate to the gender of the celebrant. Perhaps the wisest thing you can do is to ask the celebrant about his opinion. If the celebrant cannot speak yet, it’s better to ask his or her parents.
If you’re on a rush, you can simply go for a generic theme and base the whole decor and the food on the color theme. Girls would appreciate baby colors like pastel pink, while boys would want darker, ‘manlier’ themes like brown, blue and red.
2. Synchronize the Favors With the Theme
A party favor is a must for every kid that attends a party. If the party is a princess party, the wrapping of the favors should at least be according to the color scheme of the theme. Even if the party has a girly theme, the boys should not feel left out. Don’t give tiara or wands to boys that attend a princess party. For instance, in a princess party, the boys can receive laurel leaves instead of tiara, and shields instead of wands. A crown is also fitting for little boys, as long as the design is not too girly.
3. Menu
The party should never lack sustenance in any way. If the food is good, the party can become a success no matter what. The menu should also contain food that grownups would enjoy. Grilled food can be an option if the weather allows grilling in the backyard. Hot dogs can be grilled for the kids, while the parents can enjoy sirloin steaks. You can also serve pies, salads and corn on the cob. Someone can be in charge of distributing drinks.
