3 Ways To Begin Organising A Theme Birthday Celebration For Children
If you’ve met parents who are planning on the party of their kids, you’ll probably know that the excitement that surrounds all the preparation is palpable. Parents would want to have their say on anything that goes on during the party. Parents play a big role in the decision making for the kids’ party. For the sake of the kids and the parents, the party should be a blast.
Theme birthdays are the trickiest to pull off. You should never forget to inform all the attendees that the party is a theme party. If the party is a costume party, some guests who didn’t know they had to wear a costume can be so embarrassed that they leave on the spot. If done properly, birthday party planning can be a piece of cake, really. If you’re pitching in and planning a theme birthday party for kids, here are some recommendations.
1. Confer With the Celebrant and the Parents
The theme for the party must resonate with all of the guests. Some kids may not know about an obscure cartoon character from the seventies. Themes are also gender-based so make sure the theme is appropriate to the gender of the celebrant. Perhaps the wisest thing you can do is to ask the celebrant about his opinion. If the celebrant cannot speak yet, it’s better to ask his or her parents.
If there is no preferred theme, you can simply use color to theme up the party. Girls love colors like pink, while boys like blue.
2. Synchronize the Favors With the Theme
Kids would usually expect party favors whenever they attend a party. If it’s a princess party, make sure that the favors contain an element of the theme, even if it’s just the wrapping. Boys should also receive favors that are appropriate for them, but in the same theme as the rest of the party. Don’t give tiara or wands to boys that attend a princess party. Make the boys act like princes or escorts of the girls and give them scepters or shields. A crown is also an option for boys, but only if the design is not too girly.
3. Nourishing Food for the Party
The party should never lack sustenance in any way. Any party can be a success if the food is good. Grown ups should not feel left out in terms of the prepared menu. Grilled food can be an option if the weather allows grilling in the backyard. Hot dogs can be grilled for the kids, while the parents can enjoy sirloin steaks. Corn on the cob is also a staple if you have the grill going.Some food items include corn on the cob, salad and pies. Someone can be in charge of distributing drinks.
