How Do You Design Your Birthday Banner?

Having a birthday is a joyous occasion. You have to showcase the celebrant and all the events in that person’s life so far. Everything about the food, decor and the seating arrangement must be planned. Think about the party’s theme and how to incorporate the theme into everything, including the decor. Any party is not complete without a birthday banner to top it all off.

Paper Banners vs. Vinyl Banners

Vinyl material is often found on billboards and other forms of outdoor advertising. A vinyl banner is made of strong PVC plastic. But you have to hire a professional to print it because printing on vinyl needs specific equipment.

You can do a DIY with paper banners, but it may not be sturdy enough to last the night. A paper banner may not hold up when the temperature inside the room is too extreme. If the room is too humid, the paper may also wilt. You most probably will not be able to keep a paper banner for the sake of memories. Every element of your birthday needs to be preserved if you want to build more memories. This particularly applies for debutant parties and sweet sixteens.

Banner Design

You may already have an idea about how you want the banner to look. On the vinyl, the colors need to present well. Be open to suggestions just in case you need to make last minute changes.

One thing you cannot compromise on, though is the color theme of the party. Your motif should be a good color for your banner to show it well. The primary colors are great, but secondary colors are also good. Ask a printing company if they have colors like Tiffany blue, old rose and mauve before you choose these to be your party’s color theme. Remember that a birthday banner will be on a spot that will be seen by people.

Abe's Fish: A Boyhood Tale of Abraham Lincoln

Abe's Fish: A Boyhood Tale of Abraham Lincoln

$3.75

Here is the perfect book for celebrating Lincoln’s 200th birthday—and a unique way to illuminate our 16th president for today’s young readers. Based on an actual incident that occurred when Lincoln was just a boy, it shows that he, like so many children, wished he were taller (and it came true!); that he had a mischievous streak; that he loved words; and—most important—that even as a small child he puzzled deeply over the concept of freedom. Amy June Bates’s superb illustrations capture young Abe’s personality, the warmth of his home life, and the enduring power of his one-time chance meeting with a soldier from the War of 1812.
