Munich - A Considerable Town With German Traditions
As the capital city of Bavaria, a region in Germany, Munich has the third largest population in the country. About 1.3 million live in Munich, an important cultural hub and important city in Germany. There are tons of parks, theatres, museums, and much more to entice tourists, not to mention the annual Oktoberfest beer festival. This city makes for an excellent place to take a vacation, thanks to the numerous attractions and the unique city experience you get while visiting. You'll need a passport to travel here, however. All you need to do is fill out a American passport application.
Trip planning can be pretty tough, but if you go online to get a passport, it can take the edge off. Online passport expediting sites have revolutionized the process by offering official passport applications that can be completed and submitted all from your computer. You can even get a renewal with a passports renewal. Then you get to choose when you'd like it delivered. If you're within the week, they can deliver, which is much better than having to delay your trip.
A great place to start your adventure is in Marienplatz, the largest public square in the city of Munich. It has served as a public square for as long as the city has been around, and now it is a great place for people-watching, shopping, eating, and experiencing the Munich atmosphere. Not only does the square itself feature plenty of landmarks, but its central location puts you close to other landmarks outside the square and the train station as well. The central clock tower features a glockenspiel that goes off at 11am and 5pm and is something definitely worth witnessing.
If you like castles and palaces, you won't be disappointed in Munich. Schloss Nymphenburg is one of the most famous sites in all of Munich. This beautiful Baroque palace was the summer residence of the rules of Bavaria, and it features stunning art, even on the walls. It also has an impressive park, and the combination of the park and the palace make it a popular spot to visit. Also be sure to visit Schloss Schleißheim, also a Baroque palace, and Residenz, the old castle found in the City Centre.
Alte Pinakothek is one of the best-known museums in Munich as well as in Europe. It houses quite an impressive collection of 14th through 18th century art created by the world's best artists: Rembrandt, Botticelli, Da Vinci, and much more. You can honestly find a museum for any art style in Munich, and there are a variety for some interesting subjects, such as the BMW Museum, the Jewish Museum, and one of the largest technology museums in the world, Deutsches Museum.
The Munich Zoo is one of the most popular spots in the city. This zoo is actually one of the world's largest, and there so many exotic animals roaming in their natural habitats. What makes this zoo so special is the fact they are a geo-zoo, a zoo that keeps animals in communities, so you get the experience of exploring a nature preserve or going on a safari.
This is only a small portion of things to do in Munich, so make sure to do a little searching. While you're creating the perfect itinerary, apply for your passport by filling out a U S passport application online. Also remember that there are applications for other services too, like a US online passport renewal form.
