Munich - A Wide Town With German Tradition
As the third largest city in Germany, Munich, the capital of the region of Bavaria, makes for a fantastic vacation spot. With a population hovering around 1.3 million, Munich is a very important city and cultural hub of Germany. Numerous museums, theatres, parks, and more can be found all over the city. The world-famous Oktoberfest beer festival also takes place in Munich. With all of the interesting attractions and the vibrant cultural atmosphere, Munich is a great place for a trip. Alte Pinakothek, one of the most famous in Munich and even Europe, features an amazing array of 14th-18th century art from around the globe. Art by masters such as Botticelli, Da Vinci, and Rembrandt can be found here. There are also some museums for a variety of interests. Be sure to check out the BMW Museum, the Jewish Museum, and the Deutsches Museum, one of the biggest technology museums in the world.
The Munich Zoo is one of the most popular spots in the city. This zoo is actually one of the world's largest, and there so many exotic animals roaming in their natural habitats. What makes this zoo so special is the fact they are a geo-zoo, a zoo that keeps animals in communities, so you get the experience of exploring a nature preserve or going on a safari.
