The Fascinating Message Associated with Anniversary Rings
Together with wedding rings and engagement rings, women may also be seen wearing a third kind of ring, which is usually an anniversary ring or eternity ring. A commemorative gift from husband to wife, these special rings may serve slightly different purposes for different couples.
What anniversary rings are:
An Anniversary Band is simply any ring that is given to mark an anniversary. There are a few different styles that are typically used for these occasions. One is the eternity ring, which is completely encircled with gems. The most commonly chosen style is a simple band that matches the original engagement ring or wedding band, with a row of diamonds or gems across the top. Also popular are three-stone rings.
Couples have the freedom to choose whether they would like diamonds, or another kind of gem set into the ring. Many choose diamonds to correspond to their engagement or wedding ring. Others prefer to use birthstones that relate to treasured memories, such as the month in which they tied the knot, or birthdays of the couple or their children.
When are they usually given?
Anniversary rings can be given at any time, and for a variety of reasons. Because multi-stone rings are quite expensive, it is normal to save these rings for more significant anniversaries, such as tenth, twentieth, twenty-fifth and fiftieth. However, a couple may choose to celebrate any milestone in the marriage. This not just limited to their wedding anniversary: some couples opt to celebrate their engagement date, a significant time in their marriage, or the birth of a child with an anniversary ring.
How are they worn?
There are no rules as to which finger a woman should wear her anniversary ring on. In the end it comes down to personal preference. Some may choose to wear it with their engagement ring and wedding band, on their left hand. Or, if the anniversary ring is a lot more showy than the other rings, they may choose to place it on their right hand to create some balance. The original wedding set may be completely replaced if it is old and worn, or if it is going to be kept as a family heirloom.
Caring for your anniversary ring:
To keep the ring in good condition, there are a few tips that one should keep in mind. To avoid the occurrence of nicks and scratches or wear, the ring should not be worn whilst cleaning the house, or while doing any harsh activities that may expose the ring to rough conditions. It is important to ensure that the ring is stored separately from other jewelry, and to regularly clean it with a a soft cloth and a mild cleanser.
