Anniversary Clocks $10.63 The mechanical anniversary clock, also known as the 400-day clock or torsion pendulum clock, is one of the most popular clocks ever invented. Anniversary clocks are recognizable by the decorative balls beneath the dial that rotate one way and then the other. To house the attractive mechanism, every style of clock case has been used although perhaps the most endearing is the glass dome. The dials, hands and ornamentation have also varied steadily over the last century. Called the anniversary clock because it needed winding only once a year, it has carried on into the days of no winding at all. |

This Year Is The Thirty Anniversary Apparations Of Mary Queen Of Peace In Medjugorje
This year is the 30th anniversary of the Medjugorje apparitions and Joe Walsh Tours has trips from Dublin and Cork as reported irishtimes.com.
Medjugorje is one of the hamlets of the Western Herzegovina municipality of Citluk in the former Yugoslavia. The name Medjugorje is Slavic and means "area between 2 mountains". This true story takes place in the Bijakovici section of Medjugorje. On the afternoon of June twenty-four, 1981, two girls, Ivanka Ivankovic, age fifteen, and Mirjana Dragicevic, age sixteen, were coming back home from a walk. Looking toward the hill called Crnica, Ivanka saw a bright outline of a woman. She revealed to Mirjana, "It is the Gospa!" ( Our Lady ).
On June twenty-five, the 2 girls returned to the hill with four others. Their names are, Vicka Ivankovic, age sixteen, Ivan Dragivevic, age 16, Maria Pavlovic, age sixteen and Jakov Colo, age ten. A figure in white was calling them to come up the hill. The children were somehow transported in some mysterious way to a beautiful Woman who calls herself, the Queen of Peace. The Lady gives messages to the seers for the whole world. To date, the Queen of Peace has left thousands of messages. Initially, the messages were almost daily. Now, for the past several years, they come on the 25th of each month.
The idealists describe Our Woman as pretty beyond words ; radiant with holiness. Her chats with the children have taken the kind of motherly sensitivity and love, and she took the job of both mother and catechist in advising and directing their lives. She greets them with, "Praised be Jesus, my dear children." At the end of the apparition she asserts, "Go in peace, my dear children." She appears to the six idealists as a three-dimensional real image and always appears amid brilliant flashes of light. Her appearances often take place about 6:40 pm every day. In Medjugorje, loads of people come daily at this time to take part in the event with prayer, song, the rosary and the Mass, which is typically celebrated by 30 or even more clergymen. The whole evening service lasts about 3 hours. And this has been going down daily since 1981!
In the apparitions, the idealists do not react to light, they do not hear any material sound, they do not react to being touched. They've been subject to many scientific tests even in the apparitions, and the observations are well documented. While with Our Lady, they feel they're outside space-time.
Our Lady began imparting secrets to the idealists in Medjugorje extraordinarily early on. She has told the idealists that each one of them would receive ten strategies. Our Lady has imparted these secrets to the six visionaries gradually over these past eighteen years. 3 visionaries have received all ten, and afterward, they have stopped having the daily apparition with Our Woman. The other three each have 9.
The techniques pertain to the idealists themselves, to the Church, to the sign, to all humanity, and to everyone, and to the entire world and to Medjugorje. The ninth and tenth secrets are grave matters. They're a chastisement for the sins of the Earth. The punishment is inescapable because we cannot expect the conversion of the world. The chastisement can be lessened by prayers and penance. It cannot be suppressed. A noxious which threatened the world, according to the seventh secret, had been eliminated thru prayer and fasting according to Mirjana.
Local Church leaders sometimes feel they must keep Medjugorje under "wraps" until formal Church approval is given. Nonetheless Rome has established for itself a totally different pastoral response; a reply of support rather than distance. The support, naturally, is low keyed and temporary, so as not to short cut the ongoing process that will lead directly to a final decisive judgement. The method, traditionally, has only granted full recognition to world-scale apparitions when they have come to their conclusion. FATIMA was formally recognized 13 years after, and GUADALUPE 2 hundred years after.
